California Redwoods Elopement
I still have to pinch myself every time I see these pictures! I can’t believe I was able to go to the Redwoods in California and document these two amazing beings! It was a dream coming true!
Hannah and Chris are seriously special humans and are an amazing team together! They are outdoorsy, artists, warm, passionate and so fun. Once you meet them, you’re touched for the rest of your life. When they realized that in DC you can marry yourselves, they were up for an adventure and something meaningful. They decided to do a destination elopement. They eloped in the Redwoods last fall, just the two of them. Hannah and Chris. They wanted to do a special ceremony for themselves, and later throw a party in DC (which I also documented, and it was ah-mazing). They went on a few days hike and found the most perfect place for their ceremony. I can’t tell you more about that, because that part they really wanted to keep private for themselves, but they still wanted the experience of being in the Redwoods documented. That’s when I came in!
I flew into San Francisco and drove 5 hours north to Humboldt State Park. This park has the Rockefeller Forest, the World’s largest remaining contiguous old-growth forest of cost redwoods. This forest is so majestic, quiet and magical. For a moment we all stood there and felt all that beauty, and energy of the forest. It was probably the quietest place I’ve been on Earth. I still get the chills when I think about it.
Hannah wore a simple white long dress, which was perfect against the backdrop of the redwoods, and they both were barefoot the whole time. It doesn’t get much more perfect than that.
I’ll let the pictures of this session in the Redwoods speak for itself. Enjoy the ride!
