Artifact Coffee Intimate Wedding

Now that my wedding season is starting to slow down (not really...but I'm trying to convince myself that it is...), I'm blogging a wedding!! I haven't been so active here, but hopefully I'll be able to catch up in the Winter and post some rad weddings and engagement sessions I shot this year.

Leah and Adam live in LA, California and flew to Maryland to have this awesome intimate celebration at Artifact Coffee in Baltimore. And they were super lucky to do it all over again the week after in California. Sweet deal, right?

We wandered around the industrial park of Clipper Mill under the rain and I'm so glad they were up for it! Their pictures with the umbrellas turned out so beautiful! Honestly, if it wasn't for the logistics of it and for the bride and groom, I kind of wish it would rain more often at weddings. Ha! There's one thing we can't control in a wedding day, and that's the weather. So we just have to embrace it and do the best we can. And so we did!

Clipper Mill area is a paradise for a photographer! Well, at least for me. I love that industrial, old, abandoned, rough look, contrasting the beautiful couple. Leah looked STUNNING in her Sarah Seven dress. The top part had some light colored patterns, that looked like watercolors. Really unique! After getting a little wet we went to Artifact Coffee and where they got married under pretty warm twinkle lights. The minister was a good friend of theirs that flew from the UK and made their ceremony so unique, personal, touchy and funny. To gather everyone for the beginning of the ceremony, no announcement was made, nor walking down the aisle. He simply sang 'Make you Feel my Love" by Adele and so the ceremony began. It was epic!

The rest of the evening was just very relaxed and casual, with no formal seating, no first dances, no cake cutting. It was a family coming together to celebrate their union.

The food was delicious and made by Woodberry Kitchen, a Baltimore farm to table restaurant around the corner.

Leah's sweet review (the first line cracked me up!):
If I didn't marry my husband, I think I would have married Barbara after my experience with her. She captured our moment so perfectly, made everything so personal and was so wonderful to work with. Throughout the day it didn't feel like she was being intrusive and taking so many pictures yet in the end we received the album and had so many moments to choose from. She literally disappeared into the background and caught every wonderful moment that we can now re-live for the rest of our lives. I know our wedding was made more special because Barbara not only with her pictures but her wonderful and warm personality. At the end of everything, we definitely walked away with a friend.
