Screenshoot - Virtual Facetime Photo Session
Make your quarantine last forever :p
In times of Corona, we have to adapt and keep reinventing ourselves! I wanted to bring some joy to people’s homes during such uncertain times. We can’t get physically together, but I thought I could still document moments from my own home. So we got creative and did a virtual photoshoot via FaceTime. How in the World did I do a FaceTime photo session? Well, in my sweats, of course.
- We hopped on a FaceTime call,
- We chatted and brainstormed about a vision and ideas for their session
- They gave me a virtual tour of their house so I could look at lighting and possible backdrops
- I chose a location and they got creative with ways to prop up their phone to get the exact composition I had in mind. That mean putting the phone on card boxes, candles, guitar cases and whatever they could find around their house.
- I gave directions with a lot of gestures and felt pretty silly cuz they couldn’t see me (we were using the back camera)
- Xazu, the dog, was very confused and very interested in the speaking phone
I didn’t realize how much I missed photographing. It has been a full month since I shot my last wedding (March 14). It felt so amazing to get back at it and get some creative juices flowing again. I’ve been talking with Marta and Charlie about photographing them for a while now. When they saw I was giving away 10 Screenshoots (FaceTime photo sessions), they were one of the first to sign up. And I was thrilled! They were amazing to work with and they made it so easy and much fun! Thanks for opening the doors to your home. Well, I mean, for turning on the camera of your phone for us to have a glimpse into your lovely home. :)
Xoxo
