Earthy and Intimate Maternity Session | Greenhouse, Baltimore

One of my favorite things about capturing weddings on film is that wedding days feel so much like a beginning. Not a true beginning, where everything is new and unsure, but like the beginning of a new chapter in a book you can’t put down.

These two people walk in to the day separately and walk out together, a new beautiful team and family unit.

When I’m very lucky, I get to go through this all over again with my couples when they come back for maternity shoots!

Though they left me as two, here they are again as three, right on the cusp of the last page before a new chapter begins again.

And let me tell you, I couldn’t be more thrilled that it was Lauren and Preston who were about to walk this journey together.

I had the privilege of shooting Lauren and Preston’s Wedding in 2019, which you can see here, and they were the absolute nicest, most easy going people, so I was thrilled to be able to capture this moment for them as well.

We all ventured to the Rawlings Conservatory and Botanical Gardens and had the best time walking the lush garden paths, with them in their brilliant jewel tone outfits, sneaking in photos in between laughs. It was so sweet to catch them in the little moments where they were really reflecting on this new exciting journey and their last few weeks as just the two of them.

And then they brought out baby Yoda! As a couple who took their engagement photos in Star Wars outfits, I wasn’t surprised in the least, but it was the most fun to include in a few shots. One of the most memorable maternity shoots, for sure!

Lauren and Preston, thank you for including me in your next chapter. I can’t wait to see what the future holds!
