Indian Fusion Wedding at Swan Cove Manor | Cambridge, Maryland

It was all because of a Southwest flight delay.

That’s how Tanaya and Ben’s love story begins, and it sounds like the beginning of an IRL Hallmark movie. The bride and groom met at Boston Logan Airport at the Harpoon brewery bar, because both happened to be flying to Baltimore on Southwest for a long July 4th weekend.

Tanaya was living in Worcester for physician assistant school and Ben was working in Cambridge, and both had been through a long, hard week and were hoping to relax on their quick trip. Tanaya sat next to Ben at the bar and asked him what he was drinking. One casual comment was all it took,

After a great bar-side conversation, and with Southwest not assigning seats, the two opted to sit next to each other on their flight. Tanaya saved him a seat on the plane and had 5 free drinks tickets, so they went to work sampling the first 5 drinks on their menu during their 50 minute flight. Love the commitment.

When they landed, both forgot to exchange numbers, so it wasn't until Tanaya found Ben on Facebook and messaged him that they ended up reconnecting. The pair spent the actual Fourth of July holiday together back in Boston. If that isn’t fate, I don’t know what is.

5 + years later and the lovebirds decided on an Indian fusion wedding at Swan Cove Manor in Maryland. They planned a two-day celebration that kicked off with a New Orleans-themed Sangeet. This Indian tradition which is a way more fun rehearsal dinner, was a waterside dinner and party had all of their friends performing special dances for the bride and groom.

For their wedding day, Tanaya and Ben really focused on blending their two cultures and creating a great party atmosphere with those closest to them.

Garbed in traditional colorful outfits, the ceremony and cocktail hour featured some beautiful Hindu traditions, some traditional Western elements, and a whole love of love and celebration.

There were so many gorgeous moments to choose from in these photos, from delicate shots of lovingly applied Henna, to a pre-celebration groom’s procession with dinosaur piñatas, to a meaningful wedding ceremony, and fireball shots at a rocking reception. It was all absolutely one-of-a-kind.

Tanaya and Ben and their families were so gracious and happy to be growing in love and wanted to shout it from the rooftops. Or maybe from the dance floor.

These photos make me happy, and I think they might do the same for you. It was a privilege to be invited, thank you, Tanaya and Ben!
