Romantic Cliffside Engagement Session | Great Falls Park, Virginia

I have a confession to make. Michelle and Ben here are already happily married, now, but I still want to share their incredible engagement session at Great Falls Park.

As I’m just now getting back out into the world to start photographing engagements and weddings after the privilege of being at home with my little girl, I think about how I’d like to go back to this location to explore!

There were so many interesting natural formations, so many different horizon lines and mountains to play off the light with, and you can never go wrong with being up against the water! A pleasant stream, a rushing river, a calming lake, I’ll take them all.

I’m glad Michelle and Ben felt the same way because we hiked our butts all over that place looking for the good stuff! Then again, Great Falls probably has great in the name for just that reason. The good stuff is everywhere!

While we were navigating the rocky trails and tufted paths at sunset, Michelle would normally have been gearing up for her day as a night shift nurse. I don’t know how she does it. All nurses are amazing, but night shift, that’s even harder! What a sweetheart she is.

I’m sure it’s even more of a challenge with Ben’s job as the only American on the team for a French start up company that create software for sales. Talk about wild schedules! That’s how you know it’s love, it survives sleep deprivation!

Though we only spent a short amount of time together that night, these two were so natural and easy going that by the end of it, I felt like I’d known them forever. It’s always fun when that happens.

Michelle and Ben got married last Fall on another gorgeous day at District Winery in Washington, D.C. and I’m definitely going to share that one later too!

For now, enjoy the Great Falls!
